All About Us

Primo Lagotto Romagnolo is a celebrated Dog Breeder based in Ravenna, Ohio. My husband and I live on a small hobby farm where our dogs enjoy romping close to our horses, mini donkey, mule, and our friend’s goats… 
We fell in love with the Lagotto Romagnolo breed just before they became recognized by the AKC. I had been looking for a smaller working breed to retire with that would allow me to continue Search and recovery (SAR) through my VFD and Search team.  I wanted dogs that would excel in dock diving, frisbee, fast cat, rally, obedience, barn hunt, conformation… anything that I would put in front of them. They have been perfect! They are intelligent, active, biddable, and love their families.  However, with them being an active breed they will find something to entertain themselves with if they are not stimulated enough.  Lagotti are a super fun breed that will retrieve for you all day then want to finish off with a hike through the woods and a swim in the pond.

All of our dogs are co-owned by amazing junior handlers.  We love that they are the future of dog showing and are the most amazing representatives of the breed.  Without our juniors and their family, we would not be where we are today.

We are members of our parent club, Lagotto Romagnolo Club of America, Youngstown All breed training center.

 I am a CGC evaluator, an AKC Performance Judge, AKC Temperament test evaluator, dock diving judge.   I am also a dog trainer and dock diving instructor by trade.
